Finished another Diorama......
As some of you know from a previous thread about building models, this is what I do now pretty much full time.
"Laguna Porsche" was an independent Porsche repair shop in Laguna Beach from the mid 70s to the late 80s. I had one photo to work off of and used my imagination for the rest! 1/24th scale. Base is 36"x 16". Eight models, Fujimi, Hasagawa and Monogram. Delivered to the Art Gallery yesterday and it sold today! A few pics....... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

That is pretty damn cool. The detail is amazing. Not just the cars and the tools and the spares, but the tar strips on the roof...and the stained concrete... Any chance you could digitize the one photo you used for reference?

If you're looking for the next project, how about Dave Rasmussen VW in Burlingame? They also sold Porsches.
My father worked there from 1955 until the early 70's, then eventually he became owner of Boardwalk VW in Redwood City. He sold VWs for 60 years. It would be cool to have a model of the old place. ![]()

Really love the look of the waiting room, and the real looking lighting showing off the toolboxes. How much time does one of these take to complete ?....amazing !

Another fantastic piece. Echo with many at the great level of detail. Each picture is a joyful exercise of look at that, and that, and that!

What is it about miniatures that are so compelling?
Love how you have so many different textures and finishes. Really adds to the realism.
