Can I cut a 11” diameter hole in this?

A neat hole.

Thinking carbide jigsaw blades and a heavy dose of patience. Go really slow.

? Ideas?

poof! gone is right. No pic unless you're cutting an 11" hole in my monitor.

I would assume that's a stainless steel table, destined for your wok.

Yes you can cut a hole in it, you'll probably have to dress it up on the edges if you cut it with a carbide blade in a jigsaw, and yes it will take forever.

Plasma cutter.

Grinder with a cutoff blade.

I've also cut stainless liners for a range hood with an electric 'nibbler'

Yes. But don't try to do it yourself with a jigsaw because it will bend and warp the rest of the top. Take it somewhere and have someone with electric metal shears do it. It'd take 5 minutes tops and will leave you with a perfectly smooth cut and top.

Thin stainless, heck yes. I just cut a bunch of 5 inch holes in sheet stainless ( I cut up commercial countertops ) I just used a jig saw, with metal blades. It did not take as long as you would think, but ate up some blades. I dressed the edges with a grinder, worked really well. I think I cut 6 5 inch holes in an evening

Thin SS is tough to cut with a saw blade. I would use aviation shears which are affordable and can be very accurate in the right hands. The ones at HF are not too bad. Wiss are state of the art.

Drill a hole (not easy in SS) or cut a slot with a cut off wheel to get the snips started. Nibble away. Yes, a power nibbler would be fine.

I like your craft beer version better.

Crap. I’d shoot a hole better than me with electric shears.

If this is for your wok, you might just blow your 99 bucks on a stand that already has a hole in it... lots of them out there.

Or go buy a chimnea with a stand, throw away the ceramic fire pit and keep the wrought iron stand

Well typical. This sub $100 project could cost $3276.78 with the new air powered nibbler and ER copays.

Looks like a nibbler is the way to go.

You won't like nibbling stainless steel, especially if its of any decent thickness.

I Googled "outdoor wok stands" and there are a bunch of them. Lots of them come with a burner, which might orphan your turkey cooker thing (sorry) but you'll end up with a better outcome for the money. I do a fair bit of metal fab and the only metal I hate working with more than stainless steel is titanium...

Punch a few keyboard keys and sit back with a beer, while you await the big brown truck.

Ciao,
JR

Take it to a sheet metal place and be done with it.

Easier said than done. Around here walking into a SMS with a home project is like walking into a brick wall. And if they do it, you can pick it up in a week or 2. $75/hr. shop rate and they will find an hour in any project.
