True.
Most think that they are the best drivers on the road...not true.
The other drivers situation may be totally different than expected.

My feeling is, if you want to speed to the excess those guys doing 75+ are, use the No.1 lane, ie the fast lane. Just don't expect law abiding citizens to get out of your way. With the MINIMUM fine for a carpool lane violation being over $400 (and I am assuming this is for speeding as well as being short a passenger) I can't afford to be giving that much to the state simply because someone else wants to go faster than me, especially when there are 3 or more lanes available to them to use for their antics. I don't expect the cops to ticket people passing on the right here in SoCal, there's too many lanes to make that possible.
And yes, I use cruise control religiously, mostly for the gas mileage benefits it provides.
Those fooking guys should know better then that doing 30 over in there. I think 75-85 is acceptable yet, they can still take you to jail for going near 85 if the cop really wants to be a pin head. That's what the toll roads are for (they will nail you there too) but its has a lot less traffic there if they want to test top speed in their stupid Chargers and such. I am with you, they can speed out there in the no 1 lane all they want, don't screw around in the car pool.

Most people really don't understand our situations here unless they spend some time (or life time) driving these roads. Oh yeah, I still drive pretty fast, but I am not normally in the no 1 lane because that's usually the slowest lane. As much as we like to drive like the Germans and stick to left passing only rule, that's just aint gonna to happen (It should work in a small city or towns). I think many of us driving enthusiasts would love that, but there are just too many people on the road and many who can't seem to understand or simple read the driver's handbook correctly. Add the legal immigrants who has troubles reading English and the illegals who buy cars or trucks then go out and drive without ever understanding our traffic laws creates a bigger mess. I bet that make up close to 25 % of our drivers on our roads.
