C4 on BAT!!

A Porsche buddy just sent me a link to this:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1991-chevrolet-corvette-11/

It seems his father was the original owner! My friend is thinking he might pull the trigger on this one!

What a gorgeous car, right?

I just noticed the dials on the right side of the cluster. Order of importance top to bottom. All pointed the same direction when all is good.

Very nicely done.

Love the 356. My dad has a white 65sc. I love to drive it around when ever he lets me.

But come on baz! This vette is it. A unique chance for a perfect example for what was probably an underrated car for its time

45 minutes to go!

pwd72s 06-13-2018 10:50 AM

Since it was his dad's car, I hope your friend has the winning bid.

chrisf 06-13-2018 11:12 AM

7 min.

He is bidding it up!!!

David 06-13-2018 11:21 AM

If I could find my father's '73 911 I'd be broke.

VincentVega 06-13-2018 11:21 AM

Cool car. Pretty impressive for GM at the time, even if they farmed out much of the work.

chrisf 06-13-2018 11:23 AM

Wow!!!

I guess we are going to see how deep his pockets are.

Which bidder is your friend.

chrisf 06-13-2018 11:24 AM

Like 5k in the last minute!

Jims5543 06-13-2018 11:26 AM

I wonder what the reserve was?

Did not ramp up like I thought it would.

I am not a Vette fan, I understand this one special, just do not understand the hoopla. I guess because it was a limited run and had a 31K engine upgrade. (I am sure the 31K adds other things as well)

chrisf 06-13-2018 11:29 AM

Well... I thought I saw 28. Now I only see 23250.

What are you guys seeing?

chrisf 06-13-2018 11:45 AM

Reserve not met. My buddy is going to speak directly with the seller.

Jims5543 06-13-2018 11:46 AM

I see reserve not met at 28K.

Schloogie.

He just texted me and said he is going to contact the seller directly.

This got me thinking. I emailed my father's wife when he died in 1973 to ask if she has any info about his Porsche. Probably won't yield anything but I'll try.

you had email in 1973 ??

never seen a white c4 zr1. I cant imagine it is worth alot more than 28k however, even though it is the nicest one ive seen. 20k buys a pretty damn nice one with a few more miles in red.
