Anyone have experience with "Automotive Touchup" paint products?
Before getting involved with even testing Automotive Touchup paint products, am posting to see if anyone has used their paint products.

DP... thanks for input. Realize I should have elaborated. Am planning to paint entire car with paints potentially supplied by a company called Automotive Touchup. Posted to garner any comments from anyone who may have used this company's products.
Applying touchup with toothpick... fine idea. Tahnks!

I realize glasurit is now $1500 a gallon but there’s less expensive options out there. |

Wow. Before I tried to go down that path, I think I might try going to some smaller shops and see if you can rent their booth and actually spray the car with a gun...... using spray cans is in all likelihood going to look like it was sprayed with a spray can. I can't imagine ever spraying a car in a public parking lot with or w/o a tent. Good luck.

there are a number of things I must be missing as to why your thinking of painting a complete car with spray cans.
did you add up the cost of all the materials you would need to paint a hole car with spry can's? so your looking to paint a car panel by panel in a public lot. hell NO ! do the body work and get the all ready for painting you have a area macco I'm sure and I may hate macco's but in your case I think it's your best option. they paint jobs they charge are about 600$ starting price this will be less than what your going to spend on rattle cans topping the hole car. your looking at 25& per rattle can you will need to get at least two cans just to do the average fender to get any kind of mil build then if your also looking to clear add in more money for the cans of clear. you have much better options than what your thinking. when I was a kid/young man I would do painting for people that would do there own bodywork and prep and bring the car to me. some would supply me with there own paint others would have me get the paint. back then I would only charge them 200$ dollars to spray there cars plus any materials I would need. people still do that kind of thing (side work ) that work in body shops so it may cost a little more now a days but it's still better and lower cost than what your thinking about doing. |

Maybe each rattle can could be a different color then you can call it an art project regardless of the quality of outcome?

have you given any thought about buying one of the turbine paint systems.
when I was 1st getting into painting I bought one and used it for many years in fact I still have it and use it from time to time ( just not for painting cars any more ). back in the day a good one was 200$ now they are 450 to 1000 depending on it's options. they are real quiet conpaired to having an air compressor running. I used mine in my moms garage and then at the 1st two bay garage I rented. |

Late seeing this, Discseven, but I'm all for your idea. Sometimes it's about the journey! And rattle cans can deliver nearly the same quality that a professional gun/compressor/booth can... it just takes a lot more work, and likely more steps along the way.
What color have you chosen? Metallic/pearl will make things difficult. Maybe better to go Maaco/side-job in that case. With regard to your online vendor, there may be better options... are there any local auto paint suppliers? You can take your paint code to them, too. Especially if you're planning to scale up, they may be able to offer a discount.

Small test to begin sorting parking lot painting out... ![]() R&E is not what will be used to paint car. Was only for cross deck. ![]() ![]() Repaired rear cross deck in engine bay in parking lot. (Prior owner had leveraged engine into place using deck. So was a strip, bending, light Bondo, prime, base, clear using paints above.) Cross deck is a small area so cannot compare it to dealing with car panels. But doing that did serve to get a handle on how to approach stripping and painting a 911 panel by panel in this lot. Finished surface is without sanding & buffing the SprayMax clear.
