try taking apart an old electric stove that a neighbor is tossing , and salvage some of that wire and the fiberglass covering?
I dont know what its for, but that wire has a cover which I believe is intended for heat, otherwise heat shrink is fine. I also work on old pre war tube radios and sometimes I want authentic cloth covered wire, you can look here if you want something that looks a bit more original.. careful though, I htink you want stranded wire as it probably has to flex.. if you want good stranded wire you might go to an electronics store, ask for wire for test probes, it has a decent rubber covering and many strands of nice wire. It very flexible and is thick enouhg for most auto purposes. the rubber ( not pastic) jacket is good for 600 V and about the same size as most auto wire. I think there they used a wire that is not vinyl as it is quite close to your manifold. youll find suitable stuff in an old electric stove, for free. https://www.tubesandmore.com/search/node/cloth%20cover Last edited by Monkey Wrench; 05-30-2025 at 01:35 PM.. |
