Great Forum

This is great. There have been allot of folks post to the tech forum that I hope we will see here. One is DarrylD. he has done allot in the past. Here is one of his threads. I know he's had some personal tragedy this past year so we haven't heard much from him.

Another milestone today...

Aw shucks Bob!

I'm doing all right, just not as home bound as I was for the years I was the caregiver to my wife. I was always handy, out in the garage, ready to drop everything if she needed anything and on the computer at night.

Since my wife passed away in April, I've started working in a local VW/Porsche shop here in Seattle as an apprentice. I pack all my tools in my Hazet Assistant show up for work a couple days a week.

I just keep pushing myself outside my comfort zone, building engines and assembling cars when they come back from the painter. I really enjoy the work and everything I'm learning. I also bought my own '64 356C and have been tinkering on it http://members.aol.com/darryld/356.htm

I stopped by the body shop today and they're finally working on my 912! Perhaps I will be looking at a Bahama Yellow 1966 912 by April of this year and will be starting with headliner and carpet soon. I am going for a 100-point concours restoration on this old girl.

Thanks for the concern.

DarrylD-

Great to see that you are doing well. I really miss those daily updates on the 912 project - it was better than any book or television series! Your progress was amazing. That series inspired me to jump headfirst into my '72 911T rust repair, and it has served as a very useful guide for me. It's the best most straightforward description of a Porsche body restoration that I have found and is full of interesting and inspired approaches to solving complicated problems. I can't wait for you to get it back from the painters and finish her up!

Many, many thanks for your contributions!
