I am no painter but am gonna try and shoot my project myself.... 1. paint qty 2. primer (what kind and how much) thanks

I think I used 1 gallon single on my 69 targa and that was for inside and out, quart prices don't follow gallon prices, sometimes 3 quarts can cost more than a gallon.. I did not do my floors just jams and everything else you can see, hood, lid etc.

I will be going base coat clear coat.....looking at 1974 iroc orange or the 74 iroc light green, working on actual color codes as we speak. I posted an inquiry and someone gave me codes and another guy disagreed with the green,so still trying to figure it out....would hate to buy paint and it not be the color or shall i say the right shade of the color i want.

depending on paint quality, you will need 2-3 quarts of base coat for a complete coverage. This mixes with a reducer to actually give you more than the 2-3 quarts. You will also need about one gallon of a high solids clear coat. This also mixes with a little reducer and some activator. This will give you at least 3 coats of clear witch is considered minimum. There are many paint brandss out there. the tech sheets will give you the ratios. I am using PPG DBC base coat and 2021 clear coat. Not cheap, but very good.

If you know what you're doing, a gallon of base should cover you and give you some to keep for touch-ups later.
