911 window regulator

I recv'd the new pivot for the window regulator but I am having a few problems:

what is peening? The pivot needs to be "peened" .....have not a clue.

how is the spring tensioned. I assume the pivot needs to be stationary therefore "peened" in place otherwise how is tension achieved?

I thank you in advance for any help.

"peening" strike repeatedly with the ball end of a ball peen hammer. Beings as the spring "loads" as the window is lowered it is easiest to assemble the unit with the redulator in the "up" position
