rust proofing a 911 guide??

helloSmileWavy
i have a 72 911T and over the winter i will be rust chasing and applying rust protection to the whole of the car. Has anyone seen a guide for which products to apply and where to apply them for optimum rust protection?

thanks
steve

If you have a 72, then it did not have galvanized steel used during construction which means by now, it already has rust(and probably lots of it). Applying a urethane coating such as POR-15 will cover the rust but in the end, will be very difficult to remove when repair is required. My suggestion, after spending 3 years fixing the rust (well covered by POR-15) is to repair the panels now while you have simple access, then use a wax based system like LPS-3 to coat the internal cavities and exposed areas of the wheel areas. If you would like, I can send you pictures of all the places to look for the rust as they are common to all of this body style and era
