Can't find any info on my 1985 Carrera Coupe Paint Code

I recently sold my 74 Targa and bought an '85 Carrera because it was a deal too good to pass up and I was ready to move on to a newer 911 that I could still work on without a computer science degree.

The car was a bit of a diamond in the rough, but once I got it cleaned up and a few of the typical problems resolved, I gotta say, its an impressive car compared to my 74 ( I did a 3.2 upgrade with CIS on that guy :-) but not as fast...so far.

So, I go looking for some touch up paint to clean up a few rock chips, etc., and have been looking over the past week or so, but can not find any info that links the paint code on the plate in the luggage compartment fender well area to any color systems. It could be a custom color, but its silver metallic, which doesn't strike me as a color someone would go thru the time and $$ to use, but hey, its not for me to judge, right?

The plate has the following information on 3 lines:

936 9 3
silbermetallic
s7

Date of manufacture is 12/84

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have the same color 85 911, the color code is "936" Silver Metallic

Well, seems its not custom which is good, but have you ever tried to buy touch up for it? I can't find any reference to this paint code for an '85.

Seeing that you're in Austin you can go to Gladwin Paint off of 290 and they can mix the paint color for you. Just you can't get it in a small touch-up paint tube.
