Fender to hood adjustment

Having a tuff time adjusting the front hood. It seems that the fenders are too far apart and the front hood latch is adjusted all the way down. Car might have been tweeked in a prior life. Can the fender to tub attachments be bent in tho close the gap? or is this a job for a body shop.

All the pics of shorthoods I see look like this with the hood line lifted at the bumper. I thought that there is a seal that is supposed to take up the space. The fenders have to slide up, that is back toward the cowl doors to close the fender hood gap, I think. That might take up the front line also, fixing both issues. if you're at the limit on the cowl-door side you maybe stuck.

The gap between the fenders and bumpers looks right leading me to think that the hood latch may be the issue. I fyou've adjusted the hood latch as much as you can then you might try wrapping the hook with a number of layers of tape to see if that will close your gap for you. If that works adding some material to the hook may solve your issue. Remeber that you'll probably need to adjust the stops at either side of the hood as they need to be lowered to allow the hood to sit lower. If this doesn:t work there is a little bit of vertical adjustment possible for both fenders. Loosen all the bolts holding the fender to the car and with a friends help try and reposition the fender so it aligns with the hood line while not binding the door. As for the gap between hood and fender being too large perhaps the seal between fender and body is too thick? You'll need to pull up the seal that covers the gap between body and fender to check this out. A word of caution, you might not like what you find under the seal. My car was rust city under that seal.
