hi guys,

im chopping out the sills and want to brace the body up, but when i take the doors out i think its gonna give up.

ive seen an adjustable brace which fits in the door gap, and between the two doors to triangulate everything, which means i can set the door aperture perfectly,

what are they called/ where can i get one/ has anyone made their own?

also in the bodyshops on tv they have a mini air grinder/sander thing? what do you call them and where can i get one? anyone reccomend a good one?

sill? are you talking about the rocker ?? you can just weld in some angle iron to triangulate the door openings . there called mini grinders i don't know a body guy that does not have at least 2 or 3 of then in his tool box . check autobodytoolmart.com most of them are about 125 bucks . back to the door openings before you tear down the car cross measure the door opening from pinch weld to pinch weld . this will tell you if they change when you cut the rockers off and also help when you repair and or replace panels .

yeah the rockers, sorry im in ireland! we've different names for everything lol!

ive done rockers before but thats always when i had metal to cut out, this time i have a wrecker with bottom 7inches missing.

i know the grinder youre talking about, im just looking a couple of sites that stock them?

also specifically looking for the door jam bars, they have a turnbuckle in them for fine adjustment. ive seen them on ebay, but cant find them again, everyone calls them something different, cheers for your reply.

i know what your looking for . if your cutting out the rockers i would not opt for that type of support .
