need paint help

I need some help on the paint as required on my 71, 911.

I am having trouble finding out about the colour 1414 Signal Orange from Glasurit.

The painter painting my car says 1414 is the same colour as used on the volkswagon 96 to 2004 colour code R200. How can I determine if this is correct.

I went on the Glasurit site but the samples are small but look similar.

Anybody that could help me solve this task?

He will be using Transtar 2 stage paint.

Thanks

ok there is no VW color # R200 . vw does not lay out there color codes in that way .all VW colors start with an L then 3 digits . the color you may be thinking of is LP2E vw did use that color orange in the years of 1991 to 2008 or vw color # LB2A for 2002 to 2010 . they are in no way the same color as 1414 porsche used for the years of 1970 to 1973 . porsche's code 014 used from 1972 to 1975 is the same color tint for tint as 1414 color code .the porsche color code of 116 used in the years of 1972 to 1975 is also the same as 1414 and 014 but they did add 2 more 10th of a gram of black to the QT MIX . it does not change the color at all and they are still called signal orange . transtar's no mix system is an ok paint system . i have used it many times . its a very low grade paint so don't think you are going to get good coverage from it or think it will hold up well at all . because your doing a color like orange that does not cover well . if i were you i would spray a ground coat like a very light gray or white first . it would make it a 3 stage color . but if you don't spray a ground coat 1st it will take at least 10 coats of base color orange to get coverage .

Thanks for the reply.
The paint code I guess is a Transtar paint code of R200.
I did find the Glasurit site and they indeed list a code R200 for a VW which when compared look similar.

I dropped into a paint supply yesterday and they could not find Porsche 1414 in their sustem so they could not help. They did however have a Gleborange from VW 1996 to 2004.
