Exclamation 911 Fuchs Fitment

Hi all and thanks in advance for any assistance....New Member

I have a 70 911T...and working on various "Outlaw" upgrades...

Does anyone have input on wheel fitment ?????

I am looking to replace the original 15 X 6 Fuchs with 7's & 8's...15"s

Is this possible ??? I think I am okay on the front but don't know about the rears ...

Also tire size recommendations would be appreciated...

Thanks

Charles Glade

Fronts are fine. 7's fit great up there.

7-8 in rears depends on things like

1) ride height
2) alignment/camber settings
3) tire size
4) "massaging" the fender lip (or more)

I've seen folks cram 8" rims with 245's. Usually a 225 tire.

You might also consider getting some 7x15s "widened" to match the 911R 49mm offset. These would then work without needing to flare/massage the fenders and/or relocate oil lines.

I'm sure others will chime in, in 3 ... 2... 1...

My folks ran 225-50-15 on 911R wheels on their 74S. Not completely sure what the 15" tire selection is these days.. I imagine a 225-50 or 225-45 exists. Not sure about a 245-xx size.

you might want to cross post this thread to the regular "911" forum as I would guess "paint and bodywork" threads are not as often viewed.

Charles,

Welcome to the best 911 BBS. You will find lots of help here. How about some pictures of your ride as well?

Narrow bodies are tough for fat tires. These tables might be helpful:

Wheels fitments, all are 17" unless other wise specified
