Repair for curb rash?
I managed to curb one of the 19" alloys on my BMW M3 this last week. Damage is isolated at two areas of the outer lip. Each is about 3" in length. The lip is about 3/16" wide.
I would prefer to do a spot repair with the tire still mounted. Is there a DIY for this type of small repair? It would be a shame to have to refinish the entire wheel for so little damage. |

Unless you are a pro &/or really know what you're doing, my advice would be to send it to a proper wheel specialist shop or you could run the risk of having the damaged area look worse than it already is. Just my $0.02 worth.
Cheers JB

I have seen companies advertise that they repair wheels "on the car." I believe they are mostly dealing with painted wheels, and they just Bondo in the scratches and spot paint. If you find a company that does it (the only one I've heard of is in San Diego) you might want to do it on a 'like it or no pay' basis.
I agree with JB that it's not really something you want to tackle yourself.
