Small rust spot repair

Hello folks, I have a 1986 911 carrera, There are a couple of rust spots along both windshields, and a few other areas. I know they can be ground down to clean metal, prep and brought back with fibreglass or bondo. but has anyone used any type of metal fill compound like JB weld, or liquid steel to do small rust hole repair. Is it recommended to weld up nickle size rust spots. Plan to take-out both wind-screens to replace the rubber and dash board. Thanks for any suggestion.

A new topic (When to use all metal filler) Was very informative and I was able to gleam enough information to have a better understanding of the type of fillers and their use, along with some pro and con.
