Replacing Rocker Panel Rubber

Is there an easy way to slide the rubber strip onto the side rocker panels. I used soapy water but still having problems with getting the left side on.

I don't recall where I read this but apparently it's easier to 'roll' the rubber while feeding it along the length of the rocker cover. Basically, it's folded back on top of itself so the rubber splays and can be fed in as you move along. I've slid it all the way in from one end and it was a real pain.

Use soapy water....slicker'n baby poop...

Not an issue if you do it that way, just be generous with the soap...

it's very ez to do .
you roll / fold the rubber molding back on it's self . by doing so the part of the molding that raps around the metal retainer on the body of the car opens up and goes right over the metal retainer .

you don't slid them on you kind of roll the rubber moldings on .

there is only one way to put the rubbers on !
once you know how to do them it should only take no more then ONE minute and I do mean one minute . they just roll right on down the side of the car .
book time is .1 of a hour for the install .

soaping the crap out of the thing and trying to slide it on down the side of the car ?
good god really !
would you think that when the car is being built Porsche installs the mold that way ?
all rubbers like that you install that way like the old 123 body Benz bumper rubbers .

I probably didn't to the rolling technique you described properly....at least it failed for me.

Honestly, the soapy water trick took me max 5 minutes total, they slipped on very well.

...and as for production techniques, can't speak to that other than I saw a photo sequence a while back on installing the Targa backlight, and there was a whole lot of soaping going on, guess I figured Porsche would do it the easiest way, and so gave no further thought about it.

Next time (meaning the spring when I do some minor repairs on the car), I will give rolling a good try for sure.
