How is the best way to make sure all the curves are right?

well, there are soft sanding blocks....I use SIAFast papers (they are Swiss) and they sell a variety of short blocks with various hardnesses ranging from rock hard for flat to quite soft.

Note also you can use your long sanding board along the fall line of the curve, slightly diagonal to it.....which is probably your best bet.

Placement of your body can go a long ways towards a nice job.

Take time to set up your work "attack" angle so you are comfortable.

The pic looks like you need some filler and a fair abount of hand work.

A long hard block/body file is what I would use. Don't be afraid to use 80 grit and let the paper do the work with the diagonal passes noted.
