we have talked about the QTR vents many times on the forums as to how to remove the vents .
personally if the car was at my shop we would make patch panels and cut out the vents and butt weld pieces in to cover them .
the problem with many shops is the do not have to equipment to make a quality patch panel for them .
you need a english wheel to form the patch panel to fill the vents in .

Pretty much confirms what I thought. My father in law has an english wheel he's used form some aluminum work on old airplanes he has rebuilt/refurbished but I don't think he has done anything like this or worked with steel.

I'll ping a couple restoration shops around here and see what I can come up with. The car has fresh paint. ...probably about a year old or so.

Thanks for the input.
