356 model#'s or letters?
Does anyone have the desire to explain the model # and what years are what letters or if the A, B or C were upgraded models of the same years. I have asked a few people who it seemed should have known the answer to this question and got answers that didn't make any sense. As if maybe they thought they should know the answer but didn't so they just made it up? lol... anyway, if the answer is to big could someone recommend a good book about 356 history. I'll have one of these cars someday!!!
For now I'll play with my 911 ![]()

356 Models 1950-1965
All Porsches 1950-1965 were 356's (except race cars).
Simply put by "model year", does not include Carreras: 1950-1955 = 356 (Pre-A) (Coupe, Cabriolet, Speedster) 1956-1959 = 356-A (Coupe, Cabriolet, Speedster) 1960-1961 = 356-B T-5 (Coupe, Cabriolet, Hardtop, Roadster) 1962-1963 = 356-B T-6 (Coupe, Cabriolet, Hardtop, Roadster) 1964-1965 = 356-C (Coupe, Cabriolet) Each general group as above involved fairly major changes. For example, significant body changes from 356-A to 356-B T-5. 356-C were T-6's with disk brakes, and some other differences. This is not intended to be comprehensive, just a quick overview!!
