What is this thing?
I have a filter canister here that was in a box of old Porsche parts I got. I have no idea if this is even a Porsche part, but thought it might be recognized by those that know all.

looks like it was made by ZF, so yes, power steering or something hydraulics

Doesn’t look like any 356 part I’ve seen. Or early Porsche of that matter.
