Please help id this 356 engine

Hi 356 gurus

I am looking at a historic race car for possible restoration. It was an Aussie built 'special' that I have been informed used a mid mounted 356 engine (possibly out of a Speedster) in a Formula V type chassis.

The racing log book lists the following info on the original engine:

Make: Porsche
Eng. no.: P87061
4 cyls, opposed
O.H.V. O.H.C.
Bore 8.25 cm
Stroke 7.4 cm

The capacity calculates to 1582 cc.

Any idea what this is? I tend to play with 911s and 930s so I'm a little in the dark and would appreciate the help.

According to the lookup at www.356a.com, it is a 1960 1600 S.

and there's probably an "a" owner who'd give you a boatload of cash for it.
