Hard cold start
I've developed a problem that I've lived with for a while where my '56 Speedster with Solexs on it won't start when cold. Starts like normal when warm, but just won't fire up when cold. I have to use some gogo juice in it and with a little trouble it fires.
I recently brought back to life a 1958 Speedster (after sitting 8 years) with Zeniths on it and after rebuilding the entire fuel system it does the same thing. I know our gas in CA is not the best, and I tried some 110 race gas I had as well, but no go when cold. One has a 12v system and the other 6v, so its not electrical and they spool up well. Fresh gas - yes, but is our CA gas that bad? I think we have 10% corn juice in there. Thanks for any suggestions. Regards, Andy

The carbs for the 56 (solex) and for the 58 (zenith) do not have chokes. What Porsche did was to rely on the accelerator pumps to deliver gas down the throttle bores to effectuate a cold start. ASSUMING everything else is in good condition make sure the acc pumps are squirting gas.

Cold start
Both are delivering gas, timing is good running out of ideas.
Thanks Andy
