Ignition firing order of 356 engine

This might seem like a silly question to masters of the subject, but I will be appreciative of saved time with a simple/concise answer.

1. Is the firing order of a 356 engine always the same, and if so is it shown as one of the options in the diagram below.

If not shown, please post the most likely one for the engine shown below.

2. Below is a picture of Chuck Olenyk's custom exhaust, I'm trying to make sense of the firing order and the mixing of exhaust pluses (I like the sound - and trying to understand why).

I'm hoping to discover a pattern to the 4-stroke sequence in regards to the firing order and mixing of exhaust.

For instance are they back to back exhaust pluses, or spaced as far apart as possible as to not over pressurize the pipe at any one time.

The type1 and early type two is the best picture. But 356s didn't have a vacuum type distributor so the late type 2 and type 4 picture also works. Firing order 1-4-3-2 rotating clockwise.
The engines do sound a bit different than an inline 4 cylinder but that exhaust is the real reason.

Thank you "callard" for your help.

I'll be drawing up some diagrams to see how this might be adapted to a flat-6, with firing order of 1-6-2-4-3-5.....................would have three merging into one final.

3-6
2-5
1-4

Not sure if it can be done (or should be), just a study or mental exercise at this point.

.................................................. .................................................. .....................................

On a flat-6 looks like the left and right banks can be paired up in a similar manner to Chuck O's modified Bursch concept..

1-2-3

6-4-5............4-5-6 should also work, just depends on where you jump in on the merry go round, right?

EDIT-1

Which scheme gets closest to Chuck O's set-up?
