Mystery Dash Switch 1980 911SC

On a recently purchased 1980 911SC, there is a switch on the dash that I have no idea what it does. Its not listed in the owner's manual either. It the green knob between the steering column and controls for the heat/ventillation. It lights green when pulled out but seems to have no function.

I do have the Euro style fog light at the rear by the tail pipe but the switch does not light that up or anything like that.

Anyone have one of these or know what it does?

Would you knock it off please? My lights keep turning on and off and it's getting quite annoying.

That activates the P-38 space modulator, an aftermarket modification developed by Jack Olsen to generate additional downforce. Since being added to Black Beauty II, many Pelicanites have added it to their cars.

That is probably not going to be a factory switch. My '81, has a Clifford alarm LED installed by PO in that location.

There's a flat plug (blank) there on my '80. Heated rear window is green, but farther to the right.

I've got the hole left from the switch. P.O. tells me it enactivated the dilithium crystals by by taking the NOS system to N2O2S1 via heat routed through S/S heat hexchanges wiht the backdate delete (carbon fiber option)

just make sure you're not going 88 mph and have 1.21 gigawatts going to the flux capacitor when you test it...

It's probably not factory

This is an '76 dash, '80 won't be much different

Cool

Very often I find real factory switches in different places. In that particular I have a switch knob attached to a reostat. It operates the delay of the wipers. I have owned another Porsche that had a fog light switch in that same position. I

My untouched 100% 0riginal 1 owner 57k mile 1972 has the same switch . Ive posted this pic with the same question and knowone knows . The car does have type 169 fogs but the switch is next to the cigerette lighter and defrost switch . Maybe someone will respond with an answer this time . Here is a picture.

Kurt, that is not a 1972 switch, it's a SWB switch, you can tell by the hard plastic instead of rubber.
