Someone here once helped me with my Rover and I apologize that I forgot who. I have a '95 RR with the air ride suspension. The drivers front will sag sometimes when it sits(engine off only) but not always. My dealer wants to sell me an air bag for it but common sense tells me there can't be a leak in the bag if it doesn't do it all the time. My guess is a sticking relief valve or something, anyone have experience with these systems? Thanks again guys.

Yes I have alot of experience with these and actually just sold my 95 LWB just yesterday.
Do you have a County(Classic/LWB) or a 4.0SE? Both were made in 1995. If you have a County, you can flip the switch off under the passenger's seat. This will lock the air suspension in place and will keep it from self-leveling. Once you have done this, let it sit overnight. If it leans heavily on one corner, generally a bag is leaking. I don't think valve block leakage is usually a problem. Although one thing it could also be is leakage from the 0-rings where the air hose enters the bag. If you have a County, a coil spring conversion kit is available for $350.00 I have watched many people poar thousands of dollars into the EAS system and end up converting to coils in the end anyhow. If one bag is dry-rotted and leaking, they all probably are. $300 each for bags, $900 for the valve block, $900 for the compressor, $150 for the dryer....you get the picture. If you have a 4.0SE, it does not have this under the passenger seat switch, but you can do the same thing by leaving the tailgate open. Also a coil kit is NOT available for the 4.0/4.6's. Keeping the EAS working at higher mileage is a constant battle. Hope this helps, Feel free to e-mail me with any more questions. nickshu@yahoo.com Nick. ------------------ _ _ __ _ _ Nick Shumaker 1982 911SC Coupe nickshu@yahoo.com |

I also have a 1995 Range Rover County LWB. Just as you are discovering, fixing/maintaining EAS can get very expensive. As the previous post noted, flipping the switch behind the passenger seat will prevent the vehicle from auto-leveling. In the morning it will be leaning in the direction of the leaking spring.
I poured a lot of money into the maintenance of the EAS system. But the last straw came during an off-roading event. In the middle of a trail the EAS died and the truck lowered down to the bump stops. Can you imagine a 250 mile ride on bump stops? It wasn't pretty. So partly to save money and partly out of reliability concerns I switched to coils. Atlantic British sells a kit with either OEM or Old Man Emu coils. So does Rovers North. Good luck, Boris 1987 Carrera 1995 Range Rover LWB |

I just did the conversion on my 95 LWB this weekend. Took around 4 hours. Fairly straightforward. I also went with new bilstein shocks. I happen to think the ride is also better! Good luck!
