I hate So Cal

While I was driving yesterday in a matter of 5 minutes I saw 3 996 Turbos, 2 996 Carrera 4's, and 1 993. And two of the drivers of the turbos were chicks!.. I had to reach down to the glove box and get tissue and cry

I'm in Northwest Pennsylvania, and I swear I don't see that many Porsche's all year (except at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix). Just aren't around here...

A little Porsche envy never hurt anyone, why do think I have been hanging around here so long without a car. Picking it next week, but can you imagine how I felt looking at all the great 911s on this board, without one in the garage. I think I may understand your pain.

On average I see one 911 a day. Usually an SC, maybe a Carrera, once in a while a 930, rarely a 993 or 996. Today was a big one though, a 993 C4S in my parking garage. Whooeeee.

There's a plethora of 996 Turbos, 996's, C4S 993's, 911's in general and Boxters here in Seattle/Bellevue/Kirkland. The wrist gets tired waving at them all.

I agree with Souk. Get a 911 and you WILL feel better. Everywhere I look I see 996 Turbos, 996's, 993's, and a plethora of boxsters. But my SC is Special.

go SC go ... and I'm not talking about the school.

Hey Static, don't hold your breath--we will not give up our football team without a fight.

As for Porsche envy, I work for a large high tech company where there is a ton of 996, 993, Boxters, 2 Ferraris, and a Bond (James Bond) style Aston Martin ($250K). My car is a joke when it comes to these.

It is what it is.

I actually look forward to seeing a Porsche in my neck of the woods. It happens about 1 time per week (except for the Hershey Swap Meet that is).

If my car ever gets lonely I just take it over to my cousin's garage. He has a 99 boxster. He just loves it when I come over and see that I have a cooler car for half the money, and mine doesn't look as though my dentist's wife should be driving it.

Is it just me or is the boxster just made for a women.

LOL, I guess I usually take the cool cars for granted, until I go on a biz trip to some far corner of the country. My daily commute takes me through Malibu and Santa Monica. You name it, it's here. The other day I saw the new Lambo AND a GT2 on PCH almost simultaneously. (Not to mention the 911R I saw at lunch today.)

C'mon, you think you have problems...

For the last two months, Christina Ricci ("The Addams Family") has been parking her brand new 996 beside my lowly '74.

She laughs now, but wait 'til I whip her ass up on Mulholland.

I just started a new job last week.

My immediate boss, and his boss (the CEO) BOTH drive 996TT's! They make me drool each morning when I park my car.

Oh, the CEO also has a '98 993 C2S in his garage.

I drive my "lowly" Passat to work...

Emission, why aren't you driving your 930 to work? It may show your upward mobility to the boss's...

Both of my bosses know I have a 930 (they both track their cars too - a good sign).

I enjoy driving my VW to work and parking with my co-workers' slushbox Mercedes' and BMW's... it kinda makes me smile knowing I've got the "real car" at home!
