Lower targa window trim
The car is a 86 Carrera.
The trim I took out had all kinds of hammer marks. I was doing fine tell I got to the corner. I haven’t figured out how to get the rubber trim to seat properly around the corner. What is the solution. Chris ![]() Last edited by cmpski; 09-01-2018 at 11:52 AM.. |

Must be done before you put the window in. Impossible once the glass is in the car. Trim goes into seal first, then seal onto glass, then glass into car. You can’t bang or push it into place after the fact; you’ll ruin the trim. Lots of threads on here about targa back glass install. Good luck!

A miserable job. Universeman is right; the trim has to go in before the window/seal goes on the car.
Here's my experience: SC Windshield / targa window seal replacement and trim refinishing There are other good threads that I read from.

Yep. The trim gets installed into the rubber before you put the glass in the car.
