Dynamat or what?
 

I’m in progress of scraping the whole floorpan.
Swapping the bitumen for... Dynamat(?).
Which should I buy?
As I can only order online I cannot examine it beforehand and I want something thin, light.
What Dynamat (or similar) is thin and light?

RS carpet is next.

Any suggestions?

Normal Dynamat is not particularly light, but they do have a new version that is 30% thinner/lighter. It works wells as a resonance changer for panels, but it is only mildly a sound deadener.

Depends on your goals. For a lightweight street solution just a very thin layer of carpeting. The tradeoff is more road noise. Dynamat helps reduce exterior road noise but is not light. Figure out how many yards you will need and go to their site for weight specs to see what it will weigh.

You might also consider looking into aircraft based sound proofing material. While I don’t have any experience I have read and heard about their materials as they are also highly focused on weight savings while gaining sound proofing. Just another option to consider.

I bought some similar to this. I haven't started putting it in yet. Over it will go a layer of closed cell foam bonded to a layer of vinyl (MLV). I bought 19 linear feet from Super Sound Proofing. I'll be putting my carpet over that. The 19 ft. of CCF w/ MLV weights in at 80 lbs. Haven't weighed the butyl sheets yet.

To remove resonance you only need well placed strips, not whole sheets. That alone will save some weight. Only sound deadening needs to be fully covering
