Shema BBE Exhaust?

Hello,

I'm looking for a picture or a shema/map/internal design, of a Billy Boat Exhaust 911 SC.
I'd like too look inside, before to custom this muffler, as a "central output".
In fact, i've bought an old one, a second hand....little price.

Does someone open it?

Thank's!

I would find another muffler to modify.
While I like the sound of that model muffler (i have owned several), they are not very well made. They are fairly heavy, and yet do not appear to be very well made inside.
Sorry i can't provide any info about the internal design.

That said could probably find several hundred that are cracked so you can peak inside.

If you have BBE headers specifically for your SC they probably have the standard outlet spacing and two bolt flanges - unlike the 3 bolt ones you have shown in the photo.

If this is the case, I'd just buy a ready to go muffler from M&K. Guaranteed quality, light weight, good price and just bolt on.

If they are the 3 bolt flange type, ignore the above!

The distance between the 2 entry are different ( 93 cm).
This is not the standard size , as M&K ( 53 cm)

Have you considered adapting a different muffler, such as the 997 gt3 center muffler, which already has a center outlet?

All of the B&B mufflers (not just Porsche models) fall apart - crappy construction quality!

Yes.
I understand that BBE seems to be low construction quality as you said, but it' an old second hand, and that's why I will cut/custom it....

"Is BBE the same as B&B?" Yes it is the same, no question about it whatsoever.

http://www.bbexhaust.com/

I've said it before and i'll keep saying it. I'm of the opinion that the majority of the problems they have with external cracking is on account of their flimsy two-piece bracket that holds the muffler to the engine carrier. The bracket is NOT sufficiently reinforced. The weight of the muffler and the movement of the car on its suspension causes the muffler to overload the bracket and eventually break it. Plus, when you tighten the band straps it pulls the tall part of the bracket apart and tears it.

Here's a picture of the B&B bracket assembly that I reinforced with some side braces. In hindsight I should have made the braces taller.

That all said, their old Porsche 911 mufflers are poorly made. Their headers are quite nice and durable.
