Thumbs up Final Real Fix for the Targa and Cab Visor sin Adjustment Screw

Hey Fellas,

Here is another fix, hopefully permanent one, bonus, URO metal hinge review.

Sadly, the URO metal hinge will not fix the sagging visor.

If you have the NLA an adjustment screw VISOR, take care of it, you are lucky. No need to read further unless yours is toast and you have no choice but to purchase the superceded visors with sliding mirror cover. For some crazy arse reason PAG decided to get rid of the adjustment tension screw and charge extra Porsche tax for OEM. Lovely. Enough of me ragging.

On to the fix:

Issue: Sagging Visor, especially when you have a wife that loves to look at herself. :-), I kid, I like looking at her too. ( No she is not over my shoulder reading this )

I purchased the URO thinking it will fix the sagging but unfortunately it did not. Problem was the angle of the pin retainer edges. They and like Porsche brand is at a wrong angle. I think the engineers stayed home that day.

I tried to figure out why it would not stay up and noticed PAG's angle to the base was parallel and URO was just at a crazy angle but URO true to it's word made a product intentional or not to be adjustable via screw in pin and it is made solid but it requires shimming/packing so it will stop at the desire angle and use loctite for extra measure to accommodate the crazy wife using the mirror every 5 minutes, I am JKD.

PAG, it is bonded on but with a little coaxing it will move but be gentle the plastic is really fragile.

URO, use filler of any material, pack the hole and tighten to desired angle, no risk of damage as it is pot metal. I would use loctite once angle is found.

URO exact copy but metal and angle of pin off due to screw in design.

Here, you can see the PAG pin angle to the base. This angle allows the visor to be sloppy.

Proper Angle of Pin: Using two adjustable wrenches, adjust the angle up just a a bit so it will fit snug but not too much where it will keep the inner clamp open all the time. Too much angle may lose the tensil strength of the inner visor clamp and may not stay up in front of you when you need it.

3.5-4 degrees

Nice and Snug with Several days of driving around town, showing homes.

I still recommend the URO's metal based hinge, it truly makes the visor more sturdy during use.

Cheers,

Jim

P.S. my OEM's tore at the seams.
