What interior refurbishing jobs are worth hiring out?
I need to completely retrim my interior on the '74 (seats already done).
My car has a sunroof so I was thinking the sunroof slider and headliner and carpets. Am I correct in thinking that the door panels in the rest of the interior panels are pretty straightforward and I can do myself? Thanks in advance for your coaching.

Carpeting is pretty easy, just lay out old carpet with new so you know where each piece goes.
If you are buying pre-cut interior pieces, not too difficult if you have proper size staples and a good pneumatic stapler.

Hello thanks for the response. I don't think of ever seen a suggestion to staple carpet or trim into the car, I thought it was glued.

Carpet is pretty easy. I did my 85. Yes you just use spray adhesive. I'll look when I go out in my shop but I used a 3M product I think it was called foam fast.

I think he was referencing pre-cut peices stapled to the door cards and such....

Been a few years, but I think you need to staple to the rear seat backs; the rest is glued.

Good morning, and thanks for the discussion.
So headliner outsource but carpet and interior trim do myself. That is encouraging. Going to start a new thread on carpet choices.

Carpets.
I just e-did the carpets on our '86.
Used the existing as a templates, and had a shop add the padding and the beading. We have the rear seat delete which was a bit more difficult, as was the tunnel cover. Gerry

I refreshed the interior of my 88. It took a while but other then material I had to buy, I did all of the physical labor. Just don't get in a hurry and work on it everyday without stopping. This kept the project moving forward.
