Props to 911chips and Steve Wong!

Just a little positive review for the product and service that Steve provides.

I am a 100% satisfied customer from years back, and wanted to install a chip in my latest project, but I am trying to build it on a budget so I thought I would try to find a used chip in the classifieds.

I emailed Steve and asked a few questions about 2k vs 4k vs 24 pin vs 28 pin and he patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions, even though I was upfront about the fact that I was looking at a used chip.

I decided to take a chance on the used chip and glad I did - after following the instructions on his website for the DME update to use a 4k chip, the car runs 100% better than before and I managed to save a few bucks that I can put towards sway bars.

Thanks Steve!!!

That's awesome! True customer service. I've heard nothing but great things about his tuning and will hopefully be buying one from him in the near future for my 87.

My car is mostly stock but my SW chip was the best thing I've done to my 911.

encouraging thread. I installed a cat bypass (Fabspeed) over the weekend the improvement is significant. Sounds great and feel like 20 more HP / torque. The last improvement I am contemplating is the SW chip. If improvements are equally significant it will be a completely different / better car.

You'll really notice the increase in performance from 0 - 3500 RPMs.

Thanks for posting Jonny042! Steve’s customer service has been nothing short of stellar. My latest SW example (she is a ’86 3.2 Coupe)... Two years ago, he rebuilt her DME and added his stock configuration performance chip. The results have been phenomenal. However, earlier this season she began to exhibit severe hesitation and bucking above 4K rpm.

Every possible explanation was reviewed and checked including CO level, Fuel Pressure, Spark, Timing and Ground- at one point a stock DME swap was done- to no avail.

I emailed Steve and explained the situation hoping he might have some thoughts or insight- his almost immediate response… check the gap on the ref/rpm sensors (which are only 3 years old). Steve correctly stated that if too far away, the signal will get weaker as the rpms rise, leading to cutting out past a rpm point, in my case, 4k and up. Gap was checked, and sure enough it was too wide (needs to be 0.8mm). As with Jonny042, Steve took the time to respond to my emails and work with me to help resolve the issue. Again, truly fantastic customer service, and she runs better than ever.

Nothing but good things to say about Steve. He has retuned my chip at least three times. I'm currently at 215whp on a stock 3.2L engine with no cat and an Autothority MAF conversion. And it's been a wonderful driving DD to and fro coffee shops and track events.

He's the real deal.
