'87 Carrera power windows without power

Both sides without power.

Fuses 1 and 3 appear fine. I tried a new relay but it didn't fix the problem. I pulled the driver's upper door panel to inspect the switches on that side. They appear fine; no corrosion on the blades or terminals.

Background: I installed LED brake light and turn signal LED boards quite awhile ago, then more recently installed a new flasher relay to counter the rapid turn signal flashing. While trying to install the flasher relay, I pulled the power window relay by mistake, then reinserted it. I then installed the flasher relay. After reinstalling the relay the power windows still worked fine. Days later the windows worked intermittently, then not at all.

Any suggestions on how to further troubleshoot this?

Care to share if you figured this out?

I have a similar problem with my '86 Carrera.

I think that one time when I was disconnecting the switches to do door work if there was a poor connection on one of the driver side switches no power made it to the passenger side. I know ALL of yours aren't working, but are you sure that the connections to all the switches are good?

Power windows

Background: I had installed LED brake lights and turn signals, which made the indicators flash at twice the normal rate. I eventually obtained an EP15 flasher relay that is LED compatible. When trying to install the new flasher relay I inadvertently pulled the power window relay, then replaced it and properly replaced the flasher relay.

Directional signals flashed at the normal rate and power windows worked, for awhile. Then I had the power window problem.

In pulling the power window relay, then reinserting it, I loosened one of the contacts on the relay base, which initially had enough contact to allow the windows to work then apparently lost contact. Once the relay base connection was secured the windows worked well.
