Ideas for Early 911 Door Panels

Hey all, looking for some ideas here. The situation: I have an early 911, its a T, with a 2.7 with webers, suspension is 'period' modified (ie 21/26 torsions, 18mm sways, bilstein HD shocks, proper ride height, flat 6 Fuchs) and is all S bodywork outside, SSI headers/muffler. call it a subtle hot rod. Interior is largely original, Recaro sport seats and RS style steering wheel. Car is quite clean.

But, I have a conundrum. The door panels. They are not original. They were way too far gone to save. Right now the car has 964 RS type panels on it. I don't really like them (I do on my 964 though!).

So what do you think my options are? Any creative ideas? I could do something custom with the waffle vinyl and a pull strap. I could spend BIG bux on reproduction arm rests and pockets. I could do minimalist and more period correct with the RSR type pull strap panels...

I'm open to ideas, the criteria is it should be 'more period correct' and look nice.

Thanks!

Without knowing about this thread I built my own and sourced several of the parts as this builder.

TMI has the arm rest. They are a VW interior trim company. I dyed mine.

Door trim of all kinds is here. This is a mom and pop operation and do amazing work.

I am not associated with either company just trying to help others do what I did.

Thank you Tippy.

One could easily move the trim and use two different materials. Meaning smooth and textured. The trim could then hide your transition seam between materials.

The wrinkle around my Rennline door lock laid down completely after I hit it with some steam.
