72 911 coupe body flex

This post has been in the 'Paint and Body" forum section for over a month with lots of views but no responses....Thought I would try here.

72 911 coupe body flex
I am turning my '72 911 non-sunroof coupe back into a street car. It was a DE car with a 3.6 (993) engine and 915 trans. I will reuse the engine, but will install a G50 trans. The rear quarter panels have been flared (with metal) to accommodate 16x9 Fuchs with 295s. It also has rear coil over suspension.
I need to stiffen up the body. The most notable issue is body flex making the driver's door stick. I do not plan on having a roll cage or roll bar.
The car has been stripped and primed, and rust repairs are starting soon.
What are my options? I suspect there is already a thread in the forum, but I could not find it.
Richard

how true is the body?

I have a celette which we use to make sure the body is true before we body work the car.

i am in tarpon springs florida if you are interested in any services.

you can buy aftermarket gussets for the body but considering it is going back to a street car you dont really have to gusset it.

for aligning the doors, the hinges and pins might need to be checked. And fitted with new rubbers during the fitment process.

Using the Celette Bench as a first step will pay big dividends in the future as you can be sure things are properly aligned before going forward and running into issues.

Garage time stitch-seam welding

His video goes through the process and his testing to quantify the benefit. Might be nice to make sure the car isn't tweaked with a Celete first.
Good luck
