Paid for original Porsche seal received URO

I just received an order this morning with clearly the wrong part

Clearly labeled. First thing I saw when I opened the box.

Honest mistake?

Sneakiness?

New business model?

what did they propose to do to rectify the issue for you?

I had a situation occur with pelican years ago and the only thing I remember about my issue was that they went above and beyond to address/rectify/resolve.

Hi 2.7RS,

Let me reach out to the team and do some investigation here. Hopefully we can figure out what happened.

Is the e-mail tied to your forums account the same as the one you placed the order with? If not please DM me with your current e-mail and if available, the order number. Thanks! Matt

I had the opposite experience with SM. Specifically ordered the URO gasket and received the Porsche part. Lately the URO part has become the gasket of choice. Ordered a Genuine Porsche rt side mirror and got an aftermarket one. Thankfully, they accepted the return of the entire order and sent me a shipping label. It’s not like these companies don’t have our contact info to ask if a subscription is OK.

Thanks Matt, there's no doubt your team will remedy the accident quickly and to full satisfaction. Thanks for the feedback Tony!

I can vouch for the quality of the URO front windshield seal I bought 4.5 years ago. It fit well, sealed properly, and has remained pliable. The installer I used (he and I as a team) liked it better than the OE Porsche seal. I advise taking the partial refund and keeping the URO seal. That way you stay on schedule.

I really don't want to start a thread about the differences between seals

I did my Carrera seals last year. And I saw the difference first hand between both seal brands.

This is for my SC.

I ordered Porsche parts. I received URO. From a specialized parts retailer. That's the problem. Nothing more

The interesting thing is PP customer service mentioned in their email that this seal was directly shipped from Porsche warehouse.

Say what????

If there is a problem with distribution centers, fulfillment warehouse, employee training, whatever the problem is, management needs to know.

Simple business state of health

I need to send them an email about the oil cooler I ordered almost a year ago… it was back ordered and I didn’t expect it for a few months but at this point it just seems forgotten.

Wait, does this mean the URO windshield seal is available now? I had been monitoring this thread to find out when it was in stock: Report on New Uro Windshield Seal

I agree. I don’t know for sure but I doubt Porsche, BMW, Audi, ect have their own warehouses. SSF however, has massive parts distribution centers and that’s where we get most of our Porsche parts these days.

The URO windshield seal is preferable over the factory seal. Unless you're going to get docked points in a concours for the 10mm wider lip, then stick with the Porsche seal.

Hi Mark, we're hoping to have Windshield Seal 911 541 225 03 restocked sometime in August 2024, thanks for your patience!

Not sure how SSF could have shipped this seal recently, we've been out of stock for quite a while. Perhaps it was a customer return? What is the four digit batch code on the bottom right corner of the URO label?
