Hi JF,
My thoughts? Looks pretty good, from the pics anyway... 7's and 8's are a very nice upgrade... I don't like the white gauges at all... I'd like to see the Momo wheel and shifter... I don't see any pictures of the top... why are wheel spacers needed w/7's and 8's? - it doesn't look like it has them anyway.... the ad sort of annoys me... I wouldn't buy it without seeing it in person, meeting the seller, and getting a PPI but it might be a good car. Good luck, Eric H 87 Targa

well, since I assume you are the seller I'll focus my attention in that direction. It depends on who you want to buy it. For most of the people here, there is almost no information we'd want to see...you talk about largely cosmetic upgrades. Some buyers just want something shiny with a Porsche crest on it, but for a typical Pelican buyer we want to know:
miles number of owners records major and minor maintenance parts replaced history, history, history etc... In addition, the pictures don't show much detail, and don't match the desccription (Momo wheel, etc). |

If it doesn't sell this time around, then take it out on an overcast day, not a sunny day, and take a lot more pictures. The ones you have in the ad aren't very good, and pictures are the most compelling part of an ad for most buyers (not the kind of educated buyers here on Pelican, but rather, the vast majority).
If you have a digital camera, take literally a hundred or so pictures. If the camera allows it, "bracket" most of the pictures by moving the f-stop one step higher and one step lower for each key shot. This will give you a lot of pictures to choose from. Then, whittle it down to the best of the litter. If you happen to know a bikini model who's willing to pose with the car, that's an absolute plus. Cheesy, yes. But remember, you're primarily playing to deep-seated fantasies men have when you're selling a sportscar. It looks like a very nice car, by the way. It's just that you can't rely on your buyers to come to that conclusion without the help of some really great pictures.

Not a bad ad, but could be better. Agree w/ Jack that pictures are key, but I would say that's true even for a sophisticated buyer. I like ones that really show things close up, plus some good 'whole car' shots, of course. The interior shot is very good, actually, if the door was open and steering wheel was level it would be perfect. The sunshine works in that photo, and interior looks mint, what can be seen anyways.
There is obviously some competition on ebay for these cars, the good news is that most of them have terrible ads. Study lots of ebay ads, (Porsche and other cars), see which ones really grab you. You'll figure it out. Good luck. Just to put my $$ where my (typing finger) is, I will be posting pics of an '86 coupe on this board and "for sale" board tomorrow, helping a friend sell his car. ![]()
