Question Where this plug goes to?

Dear friends

I'm reinstalling the electric harness on this 1978 911 SC Coupe and I have on plug that I have no idea where to connect
At first glance looks to me not an original Porsche part, but when I follow the wire to the end I notice that the outer plastic cape looks original and untouched to me
The harness goes to the passenger side behind the glove compartment in a Y loom
the other end with the connector that I don't know where to plug, is long and goes all the way to the drivers's side of the car

Any Idea?

Thanks

I have the same harness on my '78 Targa. That wire goes down the passenger side of the tunnel near the rear of the parking brake assy. I was told that the plug is for the seat belt warning circuit and the single wire is an illumination feed for something in the same area.

My cars still in pieces...

I just took my car apart. 79 SC for me. That line did go down by the tunnel to the light below the parking brake light for the single line and the double plug went to the seatbelts on mine.

When you get a chance can you take a picture of the parking brake light? I must be missing a piece.

Thanks,
Matt

My car is literally completely apart and in many storage bins at this point. It would be hard for me to locate the cover plate to the light but I do have these two pictures. I have about 500 of the disassembly so please excuse the numbering on there. That is for my organization. In pic 305 I am showing how it goes into the wire. In pic 306 the green line shows where that wiring was routed and a couple inches above the screwdriver you can see the switch disconnected and laying on the floorboard. Also in 306 towards the bottom left corner you can see the double wire with a red tab on it that was going back to the seat belts. Hope that helps some.

I am having Timmy2 build a complete custom harness for my 78 930 conversion project.

for two reasons. one is to reduce the chance I'll chase elec gremlins with a 40 yr old harness after this complete restore, and there was a lot of heat damage to the engine bay harnes (long story).

second, will eliminate a lot of these little connections I do not want to reinstall, and also added wiring for some engine monitoring gauges.

about to ship a lot of engine stuff to Steve Weiner for rebuild/refurg and other stuff to Shaun at Tru6 for creakoate and replate.

next major item on my list is to sit down and start laying out what I want Dennis to build for me.

good luck

Looks to me like one of the connectors to the heater control box that goes between the seats; there is certainly a red/white cable there. There is other wiring for that control box as well including black blue for lighting, the other cable?. Look at page 301 in Haynes manual on extreme left
