911 Daytona Winners Diecast Set

Here's a new 1:43 scale set to be produced by Minichamps. It signifies the 1973 and 2003 overall victories at Daytona. Pretty cool. -- Curt

It's like looking at pictures of a guy at 25 and 55. Both are great looking cars, and some of the pieces are exactly the same size.

Yet there's a little middle-age spread going on.

Still, two great victories and two great cars.

Does our host carry this set? But first I want the Le Man set...
Watch the Daytona re-run last night. What an effort for TRG!

You hit the nail on the head.

So, how can I get this set?

I had the opportunity to attend the 2000 Rolex 24 and was hosted by Kevin and The Racers Group. It was simply amazing to watch them start and finish with three cars. About every twenty minues, one of the cars would come in for gas and tires. Several times, they came in for a bit more (air dam, radiator...). It is even better to see them win their class last year at both Daytona and Le Mans and then see their overall win this year at Daytona.

They are just a "1st Class" organization!

Oh shoot! I was just thinking I have enough 1/43 Porsches on my desk. Looks like I may have two more pretty soon.

These were just announced so I'm thinking these will be available toward the end of the summer or fall. Minichamps is infamous for announcing new products and than having long delays in their release! There will be 2403 sets produced so this may sell out quickly. Wayne should be able to get these for anybody interested. -- Curt

There will be 2 versions of the Minichamps 1:43 scale 2003 Daytona Winner Racer's Group Porsche. The one in the 2-car set will be in a 'weathered' or 'as raced' type finish. The individual version will be the normal 'clean' livery. -- Curt
