I'm Having Barbequed Porsche (rotisserie)
Well I spent the weekend drillling and welding the rotisserie together. It was a lot of work to complete but I was excited and highly motivated. When you wake up at 5:30 am on a Saturday thinking about working in the garage, that's being motivated. I am really pleased with the way it all turned out. The welds are not pretty but it wasn't a beauty contest. The car is very easy to rotate through 360 degrees. Here are two pix of the project. The rest are posted on my web site.

Yep, that's a rotisserie. Nice work.
How did you raise the shell up to that level?

Actually, I half expect Pat to say he just lifted one end at a time.
The shell is amazingly light when it is stripped.

Thanks for the compliments.
Jack: My neighbors have been shaking their heads and asking me "what have you done to your car" and "will you be able to put it back together" . I'm very lucky that no one complains about all the noise from the air comressor and die grinder on Sundays. Chuck: I used a 2 1/2 ton floor jack set in the middle of the frame and 4 2 FT 4X4 posts to achieve the height. Once the jack reached it's full travel I put bolts thru each height adjuster. Lowered the jack to put on another 4X4. I continued until the body was at the right height. While the body was on the jack I could lift one side at a time about 3 inches. The other side was then to heavy to move. Emissions: You are welcome to come over and roast some marshmellows any time. I will send you a PM with my number and address. Chris: I have already though about loaning it out after I am done with my car. I was thinking more in the line of a local lend and not really shipping it. The weight of the steel to ship in both directions would cover probably the cost of the steel itself. Besides, I think every home garage should have one.
