The large knob under the dash is to control air coming through the vent in the middle of your windscreen---you move the lever and it shuts the air flow off and on....My 1967-912 has the same set up

From the looks of your dash, gauges, trim, lighter, ash tray, car looks to be a '68.
A switch in that position could be a rear fog light. Could be a fader/balance for added speakers too. Follow the wires and see where they run. |
