Alternator rear bearing cap replacement
Long story short I found out that the rear bearing cap on my alternator is toast. (pic attached). Doesn't seem plausible to glue it together so where can I find a new one short of buying an entire alternator? Don't think it has a separate part number.

Don't know where to find an original one but I think an engine freeze plug would be a good substitute.

Had a similar problem a few years ago. I believe that plastic cover also centers the bearing in the alternator housing. When it failed, the bearing failed and the alternator seized. Actually, I suspect the bearing, as it fails, heats the plastic which then melts. You can buy a new bearing from any of several online suppliers of alternator rebuild parts. I had the failure occur on a trip away from home, bought the replacement Valeo alternator from Pelican and installed it in the motel parking lot. My old French alternator is still awaiting a rebuild.

My advice at this point is to do a complete alternator rebuild. I took mine to a shop and they said they could get all the parts and have it rebuilt in 3 days. A quick search found this:
https://store.alternatorparts.com/import-vehicle-alternator-parts.aspx or this: https://www.aspwholesale.com/index.php There is a nice forum post on rebuilding your own alternator which maybe someone else can find for you. I haven't found it yet.

These people were very helpful when I needed parts to resurrect a couple of junk Marchal alternators. They stock rebuild parts for many brands of alternators and starters. Perhaps they can help with your Paris-Rhone.
They're in the UK, but shipping to me in the US was fast and cheap. Edit: you didn't ask about the bearing, but IMO it's worth replacing it since you'll be in there anyway. Getting a new one is just a matter of getting the number off of it and going to your local bearing shop; it'll probably leave you change from a five-spot.
