A Porsche called *rice* - followup pics
Hey ya'll.....well, as some of you may recall, my wife had the nerve to tell me my SC looked and sounded like *rice* after installing my new twin pipe Sport muffler.
Here's a pic after cutting down the pipes 3" per side and re-installing the valance. I still have some tweeking to do on the valance, but this give a good idea. Does not appear to me louder with the pipes cut down. Whattyall think now?

I like it. If you want some chrome tips you can have mine. I won't be going with the sport muffler anymore.
BTW, move the hanging bikes and stuff over the wife's car. This is eathquake territory.

I think that looks great. Discreet and diabolical at the same time.

What would happen to the performance if you installed bigger pipes?
Anything? If not, I would go bigger.

Thanks guys! I have received positive feedback from almost everyone else who has heard it.
Ice, this is the AJUSA Sport muffler. Looks like Paul may have a similar one available if you are looking. Paul, contact me off-board so we can make a deal. I'll definately have to make more clearance on the top arcs of my valance openings with tips installed. Not sure which look I'll go with, though. Yeah, those bikes need to be moved, on my honey-do list. Now I really like playing *SpeedRacer* ![]()

Hmmmm, ok, I guess that I do need to mention that my wifey does like the SC and she likes to drive it, but she is afraid of it. She actually really likes the new front valance, "it's cute". She wants a Boxster......, so she's not all bad ![]()

I'll let you know when she brings it in. She'll probably give me one of those smug looks and tell me she got her licence in a sports car or some smart a-- remark. She just hasn't driven it much in quite a while. So we'll see if it's like riding a bike

Here's mine I installed a month ago. It adds more "rawness" with its look and sound.

Nice Andy! Did you notice a good power increase with the 3.2?
The look and sound of the muffler have really grown on me. I keep going into the garage to fire up the car and listen to it ![]() ![]()

Brad, with the SSI, the improvement is significant espeically from 4k rpm up. However, I haven't had a chance to really stretch its legs since I put the car back together.
I can't wait to take my 11 month old son for a ride. Well, probably for his 1 year-old birthday. You gotta start the training in the early age, right! ![]() Andy '87Carrera |

Its never too early to start them off. Although she did veto the idea of bringing him back form the hopital in the E.
Since then well he gets a ride almost every time I do. Lucky lad. |

Looks like a VW Beetle exhaust. Maybe it looks better in real than on pictures. Anyway it's far from rice in my opinion.

Looks good Brad....when does the ducktail go on?
BTW....Dan Byers and Ingo came by on Sunday and we corner balanced/weighed the cars.....did some dialing in and they are all good..... My fatbutt SC cab came in the heaviest at 2750 and a full tank of gas. Obviously Dan's was the lightest. Looks like he needs some stiffer T-bars as when he sits in it...the balance goes all blewy..... ![]()
