Angry SWB S for $7500 ?

Why do people insist on pimping out early SWB cars to make them look like later big bumpered cars??? It's not like you can't find 2.7's for cheap money? Instead they insist on drowning the poor car in glossy white paint and putting on BIG BUMPERS! Oh the shame of it all.

I saw that one also... what a shame! You would have to be pretty brave to take that thing to bring it back to it's roiginal state. It would cost more in time and money than it's worth.

To be fair, it is probably safe to assume the bodywork atrocities (other than the new white paint) occured in the 80s. Look at those wheels!

scary stuff.

The swb cars are getting to be quite popular in PCA racing Jim Newton's new race car was built on a SWB chassis. I hear that it is spectacular. Those cars are probably worth more stock than pimped out.

It is a shame that someone would take an early car and make it look like a later car...

Look Ma, no mirrors!

When painting always remember to put the mirrors back on after, a dead giveaway for a new paintjob. Preferably remove the window trims too...

Hey great idea painting the windshield wipers to match the body paint color, I think I'll do that too....... oh, they're already black, oh well

Buy it now for $7800, might be worth checking out? It does have a 6 cylinder motor, oh yeah, and it's a "classic".

And all this smug coming from a guy with a butchered up '74????

dougcl,

You couldn't be furthur from the truth. The "S" designated cars were, in fact, introduced in 1966 and I had owned one back in the early 80's and have a listing of all factory built 1966 "S" cars from the factory.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

Marc
