will Bilstein front inserts on my stock boge raise ride height
I need some front inserts for my 69 E. It has Boge housings from a later 911, as I do not have self-levelling suspension and the spacing is 3.5 for larger brakes. In any case, I want to install some Bilsteins before a group drive this weekend but I will not have time to reset the ride height or align the car. I have had problems with HDs rasing the front end of other cars I have had. Will it do the same on my 911?

There is good news and bad news.....
The bad news is yes..it will likely raise the car if there weren't gas charged shocks used before. The good news is that the fronts ( especially) are easy to dial back down, more likely less than 1/2 " which shouldn't affect alignment too much It's more of a problem for the rear of 911's where it becomes more difficult to re-index or lower. --Wil Ferch

I don't know the diff between a '69 and a '88 but I replaced the Boge fronts with Bilstein HD inserts and the rear with Bilstein Sports and my car went up between 1/2 & 3/4 in. It now could be used as a Rally Racer! (it was high to start with). Since the rear will require disassembling of the spring plate and torsion bars it was suggested I drive it a bit to give the shocks to "settle" which is what I'm doing. Since the car is a Cab and I doubt it will see much track time I doubt I'll upgrade the stock T.bars.
