Help me choose some tires for the Canary!

I have a 1969 911T sporting a set of 15" deep sixes with hearts that I recently refinished (see picture below).

I'm looking for a set of street / track / sport orientated tires. I know how much a great tire can add to the performance of a car so I don't want to limit myself on that part of the budget. The choices are limited in a 15" wheel

I was looking at 195/50-15 which seems to be a good fit for these deep sixes, some of the tires I like in that size are:

Toyo Proxes R888
Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R
???

Can I fit a 205 under my 69' narrow body?? It opens up more options. I will be lowering the car for a more aggressive look btw.

In the 205/50-15 I can get something like:

Yokohama ADVAN A048
Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R

What are the other options out there??

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Cheers!

-Kav.

Stock fitments would be 185/70, something like the new Pirelli CN36 OD is ~25.7"
a plus one fitment is 195/65, like Pirelli P6000 OD ~25.4"
yes you could fit a 205/50 but the OD is only ~23", great for gearing & inertial costs but you run into ground clearance issues when the car is lowered to make them look good.

Are you looking for DoT R tires?

Might want to check at Tirerack for availability

I have deep sixes with 205/60/15 on my '69. It is lowered as well. No rubbing issues and I did not have to roll the fender lips. I'm pretty sure the overall diameter is consistent with that of original tyres but its been a few years since I did the calculations.

Pirelli P6 all season. Really like the tyres.

Thanks! good to know the 205/60-r15 size works on your 69'. Love that stance!! Will take a look at those.

Hi Kav - I'm now looking for tires for my '70 911T and was wondering if you selected some for your car? I've been running Vredestein Sprint Classics 185/70 for the last few years and have been happy with them and I like the vintage look. I might just get new ones if I can find them.
