Quick Question: What does NOS stand for.

?

Sorry at first I thought that it was a company that made parts but now I get the impression that it has something to do with original equipment or maybe the opposite, not original.

New Old Stock. Meaning, never used, but probably with some dust on the packaging.

At least that's what I've always assumed it meant.

It usually means the opposite of "Now On Sale"

It's pronounced 'nawsssssss" - it's an oriental delicacy usually served with rice.

I thought it was "nose" spelled by someone who hates the letter "e."

Right, either New Old Stock, (vintage part that is no longer made but still available because some of them remain unsold), OR, a bottle of "whupass" that can make a brick fly, or a Mustang beat a Ferrari in a really short race. (Same thing).

New Old Stock. Similar acronyms are NIB (New In Box) and MIB (Mint In Box, but not New - used or removed from packaging but sold in the original packaging. Definition of "Mint" is subjective - caution).

I'm still wondering what "Rare" means!
