Brake Warning Light
Here is a pic of the light. I am reinstalling stuff, and want to make sure they are working properly. I understand the seatbelt light, from the owner's manual, except that I don't know when it (temporarily it seems) comes on. Does this light illuminate as soon as the key is turned, or does the engine need to be started?
Back to the Brake Warning Light. Please tell me how this works, and especially tell me how I can test that the bulb is working. Does it come on when the key is turned on, or when the engine starts? And finally, does this little hard-to-remove item have replaceable bulbs? If so, what kind of bulbs does it use and how are they accessed. Thank you. ![]()

Brake wear warning light.
On our M/Y 1986, the brake light has two functions.
1. The brake pad sensors will close a circuit when the pads are worn down to a dangerous level. test by shorting the pad sensor wires. 2. Also, when the E-Brake is set. Test by shorting the E-Brake switch. 3. As for the seat belt light, there is a relay which activates when the car is started. (I removed the relay from our car) I can post the circuit as needed.
